This beautiful replica of a Chris Craft was built with unprecedented craftsmanship and attention to detail by the owner over a period of eight years built entirely by hand in his own barn. The result is a boat that is not only pleasing to the eye, but also perfectly finished down to the last detail.
Originally, the boat was powered by a powerful but noisy petrol engine. Because the owner mainly calm and relaxed sailing, the desire arose to switch to a whisper-quiet and emission-free electric drive. This not only makes for a more pleasant sailing experience, but also perfectly suits the character and style of this classic boat.
The engine choice was not obvious. With a length of only 6 metres and low weight would be a 5 kW electric motor are theoretically more than sufficient to propel the boat efficiently. Still, we wanted to retain the ability to making extra speed, without compromising on efficiency.
That's why we chose a 10 kW liquid-cooled Bellmarine engine. In close consultation with the manufacturer, we made the engine adjusted to a slightly higher rpm, giving the boat an impressive top speed of 25 km/h can achieve.
For a comfortable cruising speed of 9 km/h the engine consumes only 1 kW, which means the boat with a full battery charge a range of 90 km retrieves. This makes the combination of power, efficiency and range perfectly tailored to both leisurely cruising and moments when extra speed is desired.
